Yeah, yeah, it's that time again:

tocsin \TOCK-sin\, noun:
1. An alarm bell, or the ringing of a bell for the purpose of alarm.
2. A warning.

It is just me, or does that word just look awkward. I don't mean awkward like, it can be constryued sexually or anything, but awkward as in it was probably the word in Dictionary High that never got invited to parties.

Oh, since I haven't been doing much writing lately, i haven't had much else to share with yas except for these words of the every now and then. However, if you want to get a glipse into my non-writery life, you can check it out over at [info]vm_smith. HOWEVER, that being said -- I post pointless posts, boring posts, stupid and "random" posts and shallow "i don't really care but I need to get this off of my chest" rants. Lately, I have been FLOODING peoples flists with posts that basically all say the same thing: "SQUEEEEE CRUISE!" That being said, if ya don't mind all that, and are completely sick of all these WotDs, check it out ^_^

Word of the Day time again.

pari passu \PAIR-ee-PASS-oo; PAIR-ih-PASS-oo\, adverb:
At an equal pace or rate.

I think this may just be the cutest word ever.

* * *
frangible \FRAN-juh-buhl\, adjective:
Capable of being broken; brittle; fragile; easily broken.

Dictionary.com SO made that word up. Frangible? Seriously? They ran out of words of the day so they started making them up, haha.

mmm words... delicious.

I think this is one of my favorite words:

cacophony \kuh-KAH-fuh-nee\, noun:
1. Harsh or discordant sound; dissonance.
2. The use of harsh or discordant sounds in literary composition

Okay, this one is prolly my favorite word of the day in a long time:

dishabille \dis-uh-BEEL\, noun:
1. The state of being carelessly or partially dressed.
2. Casual or lounging attire.
3. An intentionally careless or casual manner.

Anything that's "the state of being carelessly or partially dressed" wins ^_^ That alone is pretty awesome, but the word itself is fantastic. Dishabille? I have GOT to figure out a way to stick that into a casual converstation sometime today...

Word-o-the-day!

tarradiddle \tair-uh-DID-uhl\, noun:
1. A petty falsehood; a fib.
2. Pretentious nonsense.

This word just makes me giggle. I think anything ending in -iddle (except maybe riddle) makes me giggle.

Okay world, here it is.

At 2:19 on the afternoon of Novemember 26th, I finished my very first full novel. EEK!

I'm so excited, but so sad at the same time. I loved working on it, and am sad that it's over. But, at the same time, it's like "IM FREE!" free to do the stuff I've ignored over the past month... like school. Ick. It's also nice to know that it's not like i'm completely done -- oh man the editing that I'll hit this thing with... it won't even recognize itself when I'm done with it ^_^

But, yeah. I'm done. Officially. I typed "The End." Including the period. It was fantastic.

Now I just need to count up like 15 pages worth of words, ick. Oh well.

I have a bobble head santa clause on my desk and whenever I hit my desk, it goes "bobble bobble bobble."

ION: Wrote Charlie and James K's death scenes today. I'm very happy with how James K's turned out. Charlie's... well I knew Charlie's death itself wouldn't be that sad because it's part of an action sequence, and that's the thing with action sequences -- you don't have any time to grieve. But tomorrow. Oooho boy, tomorrow are the funerals. I'm kinda excited because Charlie is going to be buried in Balagery -- so Clare finally gets to Balgaery ^_^ I'm hoping I'll be able to make it heartbreaking. After all, Charlie did just sacrifice his life for Clare.

I've realized over the last... 30k words or so, that charlie turns out to be a much more tragic/pathetic character than I meant him to be. I mean, he's in love with clare, who's obviously interesting in the annoying rodger, and then at the end charlie sacrifices his own life for clare, and she ends up with rodger anyways. I've always rather disliked reading about characters like that... but i do so love writing them. And i love charlie to (well, even beyond) death, so whatevs.

I have no idea my wordcount for tonight, but I wrote 10 pages. HOLY COW I WROTE 10 PAGES! On average, i get about 700 words per page... that's 7k words in one night people! THAT'S INSANITY! I'm thinking it might be less, though, because there was a lot of dialog and short paragraphs, but still. I'm thinking tonight was my biggest night wc wise. I guess cause I was thinking "maybe I'll finish it tonight." But i was right when I said before that I had three writing sessions left. The next time I sit to write will be the time I finally get to type "The End." It will be fantastically depressing.

IOON (in other OTHER news): I've realized that the typewriter has started to mess with my keyboard typing skillz. I now type unnecissarily hard on my keyboard, creating a lot of unnessisary noise. But I can deal with that. What drives me crazy is that on my typewriter, apostrophies are made by hitting Shift+8, but on the keyboard, you don't use shift. So i keep typing " instead. So, now i tend to just leave them out all together ^_^

ALRIGHT, ending long post. Gotta go write in a quick paragraph I forgot to add in before I forget about it, and then off to viddle (I feel gross today, so i'm not gonna make a vid, but i have a few that i need to watch)!
**edit** I forgot what it was I wanted to add in. It was important, too. Oops. Oh well.

NaNo07 Winner Icon

YAY! So, I went and got my word count "validated" today. I use quotation marks because, well, the document I submitted was a short paragraph saying "i know no one reads this, but I swear, I wrote my 50k. All the words are just sitting in a glorious type written pile of plot holes and character dedevelopments." and then the phrase "Let me show you how I work, work, wrok [sic]" repeated over and over ^_^(In case you were wondering, that phrase is a lyric in the song i was listening to at that moment. Actually, it's the ONLY lyric in that song ^_^) I feel weird like I'm cheating, but I DID get my 50k written, so it's not like I'm really cheating or anything. (how lame do you have to be to CHEAT at NaNo? Seriously.)
I was going to wait until I finished my novel (any day now) but I know me, and I know I'd forget to "validate" my wc until 12:05am Dec. 1 ^_^ So I did it now. It really gives a feeling of "it's over" even though I still have to finish my novel. It's getting really close to being done, too. If it wasn't for school, I probably could have it done by the end of tomorrow.

That being said, I'm off to go ignore school and write some more. (i did A LITTLE work on one of my reports earlier, but my stupid printer isn't working, so SCREW IT i say! I figure, the sooner I finish my novel, the sooner I can stop using it as a procrastination weapon ^_^)

OH, and I really like the winner's certif. It's pretty. I still stand that the yellow design does not mix well with the layout of this journal, though :P
